Calcium Stearate also known as calcium octadecanoic acid, is one kinds of calcium salts, that is a carbohydrate which is formed by heating stearate acid and calcium oxide. Calcium Stearate is an odorless white crystalline powder, that is insoluble in water, cold ethanol and diethyl ether, soluble in hot benzene, hot pyridine, toluene and turpentine, slightly soluble in hot ethanol.
Calcium Stearate with properties such as lubricant in PVC production, as an acid absorbent in the blending of many polymers, as a waterproof agent for waterproof fabric, is applicable in different industries like as plastic industries, rubber industry, pharmaceutical industry, construction industry, food industries and many other industries.
Consuming or inhaling calcium stearate can lead to nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. It may also cause systemic side effects such as increased blood pressure, blurred vision, etc.
