Zinc stearate is a white powder, insoluble in water, alcohol and ether, slightly soluble in benzene and soluble in chlorinated hydrocarbons under heat.
Zinc stearate is used in many different industries including rubber industry, plastic industry, construction industry and many other industries, because of its features like as lubrication, compatibility and hydrophobicity (ability to repel water, that is insoluble in some kind of polar solvent) Of course, the main fields of this product application is in rubber and plastic industries.
Zinc stearate inhalation may cause dizziness, headache, and nose and throat irritation. Also, skin and eyes contact with this material may causes mild irritation of skin and eye tissue. Generally, Zinc stearate is considered as a non-toxic and non-irritating substance.
